Crowdsourcing is a promising avenue towards collectively solving problems or seeking innovations. Yet the very process of crowdsourcing is very poorly studied, in particular from the standpoint of quantitative analysis. This project aims at developing computational models of crowdsourcing, primarily grounded in statistical analysis and the theory of complex networks. We will look for relations with the evolutionary aspects of crowdsourcing, since similar phenomena have been thoroughly studied in biology. Finally, attention will be devoted to applying crowdsourcing for searching for business solutions in cooperation with the company collaborating on the project.

The project is partly funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund. The project is implemented under the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development for the period 2007-2013, Priority axis 1 "Promoting entrepreneurship and adaptability" 1.3. "Scholarship Scheme", within the approved operations "A creative path to practical knowledge."
