Janez Povh

Bio: Janez Povh is a Senior Research Engineer at the Laboratory of data technologies. He is primarily interested in developing mathematical models for solving various theoretical and real life optimization problems with a special focus to problems which can me modeled by cone optimization problems, i.e., semidefinite, linear and copositive programming problems. Many data technologies are based on such models. He worked on several projects involving modeling combinatorial optimization problems by cone programing methods, optimization of commutative and non-commutative polynomials and information retrieval based on methods for data classification. He studied mathematics at the Faculty of mathematics and physics at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he received M.Sc. in 2002 and Ph.D. in 2006.
